Right after MacReady kills the thing and right before Childs shows up, MacReady is about to take a swig of the same bottle Childs ends up drinking out of.
Why would MacReady drink gasoline willingly? And more more importantly, why wouldn't a creature that can replicate people's memories, speech patterns, behavior, and everything down to a cellular level not know what gasoline tastes like? Nothing about this theory makes sense and it's hilarious that it gets so much traction.
