Has any Alien movie after "Aliens" been good anons? do I just save my money and wait until it gets released, then google whether its shit or not.
2 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-17 01:19
Oh no, Mark Kermode said Alien Covenant was silly.

This doesn't look good....
3 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-17 14:33
It depends; do you like space horrors, scary monsters or scare humans.

Event Horizon is a good space movie. Antichrist is a fucking amazing film, but it's more a humans are scary film.

Why did the Engineers look so primitive and pathetic in the trailers? How the fuck did they allow what David did to them?
5 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-22 11:44
So can we write off the Alien vs Predator films as taking place in a alternate reality?
6 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-24 23:57
The hate based around this film is due to audiences being too stupid to piece things together themselves. Go and watch your shitty Marvel films you meandering plebs.
7 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-26 15:52
What about the immersion faggot?

The capt. dies and the 2nd in command (fucking military) is a pussy boi that starts having panic attacks and need a strong woman to keep him going.

The protagonist is a strong and independent woman win manly features but still beautiful.

This is pure propaganda.

The pilot is a fucking 'smart' redneck that wears a fucking STRAW HAT in space by the name of Thenesee, this fucking redneck can't make fucking rational decision, fucks the protocol for a phonecall with his how.

Alien Covenant is crap, Prometheus is ten times better.
9 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 17:39
So with David the single most important character in the Alien movies, with him creating the Xenomorph and the eggs and the facehuggers, but how is he responsible for the Derelict landing on LV-426 carrying the eggs, which led to all the later Alien movies?
10 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-27 19:44
I can't honestly see how it was possible, the derelict alien ship they encounter on LV-426 was ancient, plus David created the xenomorphs in 2104 AD, the first Alien film takes place in 2122 AD, This wouldn't be enough time for the ship to crash and reach the fossilised conditions it was found in.
11 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 01:19
It's all about the humans, his aliens are shit when they breed with inferior animals.
12 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 04:06
Prometheus and Alien: Covenant are a reboot to the series that try to create a proper mythology to the xenomorphs.

The story will not line up perfectly with the older movies.

Xenomorphs are seen on earth in 1997, 2004 and 2007 which directly contradicts the story of Prometheus and Covenant.

David the single most important character in the Alien movies
Weyland is still more important in all branches of the story.
14 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 09:41
There is always the option that they redcon the fossilized part since back then they didnt thought of that backstory.
15 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 12:28

If your talking about Alien vs. Predator they take place in a parallel universe to the Alien movies.
16 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 15:16
Pro tip: The old alien franchise is also in a parallel universe because the new movies are a reboot.

Problem solved.
17 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 18:25
>>9 H.R. Giger created all those things. All the new aliens movie does is retcon.

This type of fan service retcon is just as embarrassing as the new starwars movies.
18 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 19:17
Alien vs predator is not canon
that solves the problem but it's a shitty way of dealing with it, i'd prefer some clever writing that ties it all together. Clever writing, not shit writing that ridley will deliver
19 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 18:04
Ridley Scott is trying to tell this story about human inferiority and biblical parallels. He just cant make the movie he wants without it connecting to the billion dollar franchise he created 40 years ago. Hes stuck telling this new story in the confines of the alienverse. Im just straight up ignoring the alien connections tbh.

I don't know. I liked the idea Prometheus put forward, that a species at the end of their existence tried to recreate life which lead both to us and the xenomorphs in wildly different circumstances.

Covenant throws all of that away by having that species still alive billions of years later and adds insult to injury with the most inept crew ever to be seen on film.

We are just going to check it out
Better take as many people in one shuttle as possible and no reason to scan the planet
No need for environmental suits
Quarantine? Whats that?
21 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 18:14
alien vs predator is not canon
The original movies are not canon either.

Problem solved.

So why bother making the story match with the first Alien Film?

Your theory is also supported by the mural on the ceiling of the "ampule room" in Prometheus. Those were clearly Giger-esque xenomorph forms. So they existed well before, and were quite ancient. I believe one of the characters said the Engineer temple had been sealed for over 2,000 years.

Maybe the Engineers revered and mythologized the pure form of the xeno as a godlike being and had been trying to recreate it with the black liquid. David is now following in their footsteps.
24 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 18:41
How about this
The Engineers are at least billions of years old
They are known to have multiple ships with the evolutionary virus
The Derelict on Acheron may not have anything to do with David
25 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 18:46
The Engineers were trying to recreate life as they knew it on other planets using the black liquid to take their DNA and let it evolve aggressively on that planet.

The xenomporph style creature keeps reappearing because it is the favored route of evolution using Engineer DNA.

Also, retcon for bucks.

Is Covenant making enough money to ensure Scott's continuation? I thought it had flaws but i love the series overall and hope Fox keeps making more. It would be weird years from now if there's nothing bridging Covenant and Alien(79).
27 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 19:05
don't worry, they'll definitely keep shitting them out.
28 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 19:08
The Illuminati demands it.
29 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 19:10
Are we not going to mention the fact that David wiped out the entire race of engineers in one push of a button?
30 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 19:19
I was quite excited when Prometheus got released, was thrilled when I saw the opening sacrificial scene...BUT

was quickly let down by how dumb the characters were ..
- taking off your space helmets on a newly discovered hostile planet just because the gas composition within a cave on the said hostile planet seems to match earth's

- walking over everything, stepping on everything, breaking every seal, and contaminating every single thing within the cave (spaceship)

-the geologist/geographer getting lost inside despite having super high tech gps flying balls

-the dumb biologist who thinks the first thing to do when encountering a seemingly alarmed space creature (the snake thing) is to touch it

fucking dumb shit

Saw Alien Covenant recently, hoping that the stupidity will be taken care of - NO! It's still fuckin stupid..FUCK!
31 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 19:23
Yea I understand this point. These people know how to pilot FUCKING SPACE MACHINES and use complicated technologies but can't seem to use common fucking sense when it comes to dealing with unknown shit.
32 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 19:26
This was the straw that broke the camels back for me..
33 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 19:30
The more I think about the theory that the xenomorph or Internecivus Raptus definitely predate David's machinations and that David managed to recreate a cousin of the xenomorph that we're familiar with.
34 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 19:39
You just might be on to something here, actually.

IIRC Ripley has said in interviews that what we saw in Covenant was not in fact a xenomorph but just a more advanced protomorph (or whatever the hell the "prototypes" are called). The movie supposedly didn't have any actual xenomorphs.
35 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 19:46
spacefaring civilization
everybody's apparently gathered in one spot on that planet
years later, David is still all alone with no other Engineers having shown up to check why they've lost contact with that city
36 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 20:00
Dont forget the derelict spacecraft on LV426/Acheron is supposed to be 2000 years old! THAT MAKES NO SENSE!
37 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 20:10
Agreed there are stupid moves throughout the movie.

But, its just a movie.

Still more exciting and fun to watch than 98% of the dribble out of follywood.
38 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 20:16
It still gets weird when you make a story about highly trained scientists and experts, and then have them behave very very unprofessionally.
39 Name: Anonymous 2017-05-28 20:22
And how come Starlord's dad is a planet, though?

What's up with that?
40 Name: Anonymous 2021-09-12 01:25
There were only two ALIEN movies.

Leave this field blank:
