Is Panasonic ever going to release the GH6 ?

The 8K technology is starting to look old hat with RED putting out 12K cameras.

I'll be dead with Covid-19 before Panasonic release the GH6 with 8K

The GH6 is more a video camera than a stills camera.

They'll do it eventually. Not gonna get it if it has 8K though. Stupid to cram that many megapixels onto such a tiny sensor, you'd only be able to use it in studio setting.
Just get an S5 or something

The problem with S1 or S5 is that the GH5 Anamorphic lenses don't work on anything but M43 and that's why people want 8K on the GH6 and 10K Anamorphic 4:3.

Since i think there a camera fags who knows their shit here, can someone explain to me why the fuck a camera with a big sensor is so expensive, let say a camera with gull frame sensor cost like 3k bucks meanwhile the same specs camera with small sensor cost 100 bucks, last time i knew manufacturers were having a hard time doing shit smaller well they still are with processors but why something it should be easy to do due its size its more expensive to a tiny sensor with the same amount of pixels.

Big sensors cost more because the DIE produces less sensors with 20-30% being damaged in production.

With M43 they produce more sensors per DIE with less damage around 5% therefor cheaper to make.

If the GH6 has 8K it only need 33.17 megapixel.

The Sony sensor being used for the GH6 is 41 megapixel (IMX594).

Since Panasonic use DCI the full read out would be a 8192×4320 resolution, that’s 35.3-megapixels, still with in the Sony sensor limit.

Isn't the semiconductor used to that just ''sand'' and other mix of stuf also the process of manufacture isn't just photocopying hundreds of times the same die?.

The DIES are made in one big semiconductor wafer, they cut the sensor out with the outer edge ones damaged the most, I've only seen videos so don't know much about it really.
