Should I get an iPhone or an Android?

Android, just depends what one. I'd stray away from Samsung as they're becoming shittier. What's your budget?

You should build your own phone.

iPhone if you want something functional and easy. Android comes with a bunch of unwanted bloatware than shit that you don’t want/ need and you have to find alternative apps because the stock ones are shit.

this. it's the only way to get the actual phone you want unless you build it. too many brands copying the iphone regardless of how good/bad their decisions are.

if you said that 5 years ago I would've believed you. But when I can get a Huawei or Xiaomi with the same/equivalent processor, better battery and camera for a fraction of the price then whats the point in Samsung. Don't get me wrong I've loved the products I've had from them but I've found so many friends who've had them fry in the first month or so. The quality just isn't there anymore

having to root your phone just so that you can remove 15 applications you don’t use to free up memory and increase battery life

Because the Chinese dont strive to have the very best in every facet. The screen let's one model down, the battery life let's another down.... then the memory speed, the quality of the USB jack connector.

With Samsung you get the best in everything.

At a price.

With Samsung you get the best in everything.
Including the best exploding batteries.

Like the other anon, I liked my Samsung (SGS3) but all manufacturers seem to think that bigger is better, so I have moved on to Sony compacts now (Z3C, XZ1C).

iPhone: Expect to overpay a little for something functional and easy
Android: Cost depends on model. Tend to be more functional.
