QPR vs Sunderland [EFL CUP]

QPR vs Sunderland [19:45]

The Black Cats continue their cup run with a last 16 tie against the Championship play-off contenders at Loftus Road.

Sunderland have already beaten Port Vale, Blackpool, and Wigan Athletic to reach this stage of the competition, while QPR have seen off Leyton Orient, Oxford United, and Everton.

Lee Johnson is likely to make some changes tonight after admitting that his side lacked 'zip' in their weekend league defeat at home to Charlton, as their busy schedule continued.

Sunderland fans are quietly confident ahead of tonight's trip to Loftus Road in the Carabao Cup.

Lee Johnson has made seven changes to the side that took on Charlton Athletic at the Stadium of Light at the weekend.

Lee Burge, Frederik Alves and Corry Evans are among those to start against QPR this evening with a place in the Quarter Final of the Carabao Cup up for grabs.

Black Cats fans are quietly confident of reaching the next round, despite coming up against Mark Warburton's side who've made a brilliant start to the Championship campaign.

The Hoops are currently seventh in the league and have named a strong line-up to take on the Wearsiders this evening.

Lee Johnson made seven changes to the side that started the weekend league defeat at home to Charlton Athletic.

However Sunderland still put out a strong side against QPR in the last 16 of the Carabao Cup.

The four retained from Saturday's side were right-back Carl Winchester, midfielders Luke O'Nien and Dan Neil, and Ross Stewart.

Go here for all the latest Sunderland AFC news

But Lee Burge replaced Thorben Hoffmann in goal, while Bailey Wright and Frederik Alves played in central defence instead of Tom Flanagan and Callum Doyle, and Denver Hume came in for Dennis Cirkin at left-back.

Johnson brought Corry Evans in as an extra midfielder alongside O'Nien and Neil, in what looked to be a switch to a 4-3-3 formation, and he started with Lynden Gooch and Leon Dajaku out wide.

Alex Pritchard, Aiden O'Brien, and Aiden McGeady made way.

All seven players who dropped out of the starting XI were included on the bench, along with youngsters Will Harris and Stephen Wearne.

QPR boss Mark Warburton also made changes, in his case six to the side that started the weekend Championship defeat at Peterborough United.

In came Osman Kakay, Jordy de Wijs, Luke Amos, Chris Willock, Andre Gray, and Moses Odubajo.

They took the place of Stefan Johansen, Charlie Austin, Dominic Ball, Albert Adomah, Sam McCallum, and one-time Sunderland loanee Jimmy Dunne.

Sunderland: Burge, Winchester, Wright, Alves, Hume, O'Nien, Evans, Neil, Gooch, Stewart, Dajaku

Subs: Hoffmann, Flanagan, Doyle, O'Brien, Cirkin, Pritchard, McGeady, Harris, Wearne

QPR: Dieng, Kakay, Dickie, de Wijs, Barbet, Odubajo, Amos, Willock, Chair, Dykes, Gray

Subs: Archer, Drewe, Dunne, Adomah, Ball, Dozzell, Austin, Duke-McKenna, Johansen

fucking fifa

I couldn't win the 10 games in friendlies for the rare players pack. I never get mad at games but I was fucking furious in the last game. I took the lead 3-2 but couldn't swap to a defender for the next 50 minutes after that. I'm hot I'm so fucking mad right now. Player switching is by far the worst it's ever been. Now I've played 20 friendlies for literally no reason and wasted 20k on 10 players who can barely move on the pitch.

In rivals now I was 4-0 down, got 3 goals back. At half time it says something and gives two options, back to ultimate team or main menu. I have to quit and lose the game. What the fuck is that?

I can get everyone in both teams to 10 chem except Denayer who stays on 8.

Denayer is the best gold defender in the game, just totally and utterly dominant. Fekir, 91 Benzema, CR7, Zola, Robbie Keane, he's pocketed them all. Fullbacks are largely irrelevant because pace isn't as good so they're never getting burnt by pace merchants. Diego Carlos has been rock solid too. I can't think of any players for under 300k I'd rather have in my defence right now. Wish there was a way to check how many goals you've conceded or check your goal difference or whatever, but defending seems much easier this year IMO.

i haven’t played since 18 but my god it’s dogshit, you have to do training every week for the first few months to get the highest possible grade on all drills if you don’t want your team to play like retired fuckwits. literally every goal is scripted for the opponent, i kept replaying a game because brighton kept scoring in the 10th minute, for 6 consecutive games in a row all because i wanted to play a youth player on the wing. oh and also your youth players will basically never develop unless they go on loan, because once you sub on a player, they literally will have a 4.5 rating and be in terrible from after the game unless they have scored a hat trick. so if you sub young players on, they will be in bad form and won’t develop. oh and also if you want to loan them out literally every club only asks for a loan with buy option, and they will fucking buy them. i’ve found a way around it and it’s to delegate the loan offer and set it to one year loan only but 80% of the time they reject it.

player career mode is worse, they just copy pasted pro clubs and instead of improving based on how you play, you get xp after every game or every training drill you do which you can allocate to anything. one game you can have 60 pace and if you feel like it the next game you can put all of your points in it and become 90 pace. oh and again you also have to do the training literally every week otherwise the manager doesn’t like you and drops you from the team. and no matter your rating you’ll start off as a sub, and be expected to have a 7.5 rating, improve the teams possession, or assist a goal etc. except you’re forced to do an enchanted version of one of the objectives which are literally impossible e.g have a 8.5 rating, have 2 assists, even though you are subbed on in the 85th minute which is basically 1 minute of playing time with normal games. so basically you can only start by grinding training

People get past Dubois every now and then tbf, but if you just switch to your CB and start to press them, they either panic and pass it into midfield, where you've got the extra numbers or they try to dribble past the brick wall and lose. Having your FBs stay back on defence means you basically never get caught out by a pacey winger on the counter though. Having said that, he's the only one I wish I could upgrade tbf, but I need him to get Denayer on 8 chem and I don't think there's anyone I can upgrade to that keeps Denayer on that.

Also, Milito is positively demonic. 40 goals and 32 assists in 41 games as a lone striker.
19 Name: Anonymous 2021-10-26 19:49
also young players never have traits, like ever. no leadership so your backline becomes retarded if you do a long term career mode. and the wages are broken, you can offer the best player in the world have the wages and he’ll accept it.

player career mode also has that gay super power shit like oh you improve passing stats for 15 minutes after getting an assist, it’s genuinely the most dogshit it’s ever been and i’m easily not going to touch it for another year or two

i feel like you can only get away with this in div 3. everyone does stay back on attacking, they are completely used to scoring against people that defend just like you with pay to win defenders. if you don’t want to splash now splash later, but you have to upgrade your defenders.
I would use pic rel because i think a DM and B2B are important, also as annoying as it is just sub denayer in if he’s that good for you. also try out more defenders and see if they can replicate how denayer is because i’ve used him and there is so many other CBs that are just as good, cheap and actually can link, klostermann, kimpembe, koulibaly, eder militao, skriniar, try bulky defenders like that and i’m sure you’ll find them the same if not better than denayer. if you get rank 2 with that defence i unironically think the only thing stopping you from rank 1 is your defence and your autistic inertia from buying and using meta defenders

Canada is the country who has produced the most NFL players outside the usa

Kek. We are more similar to burgers than people realize. Rural and suburbs are based, our cities are pozzed beyond belief. Pretty close to a lot of northern states. The biggest difference is Canadians are, sadly, on average less religious.

1) Montreal never had an NBA team although Adam Silver has gone on record saying he is considering expanding an NBA team to either Vancouver or Montreal. Montreal would honestly be a viable contender. In recent years there has been an emergence of basketball players from Montreal both in the NBA and NCAA level, it is the second largest city in Canada and it is technically a blacker city than Toronto and their minority population likes basketball as well.

it's funny cause I live in Quebec, and while everyone learns the metric system, nobody uses it for anything than the length of your car ride, or the temperature. I've never heard anyone say "I'm this or that centimeters tall", it's always "I'm this or that feet whatever inch tall"

The first time I drove in Canada, I got confused when I saw "speed limit 100", but then I realized its equivalent to 65 mph, which makes sense.

I think its harder to get used to temperature reading in metric because we have absolutely no frame of reference aside from "boiling" or "freezing"

I don't like how the NHL holds back Canada, they prioritize expansion teams in places where Hockey is like the 5th favourite sport. Hamilton, Halifax and Quebec city could easily support NHL teams and atmosphere at games would be much better than any Sun Belt city. Coming from the West GTA I always wanted another local team to cheer for cause I can't stand the Leafs ownership. Honestly I would support Canadian teams breaking off in protest and forming a CHL with three extra teams, it would 100% out perform the NHL in ratings and attendance.

It's useful in Canada. -35? Fuckin cold. +35? Fuckin hot. Fahrenheit is based on a brine solution. What do you see more often outside? Water or brine? Fahrenheit are good for cooking or body temps, pool water temps, or anything monitoring "extreme" temps like CPU heat or chemistry since it's still precise in the needed ranges. For the weather, I just need an approximative.

Canadian NHL owners (including owners of US-based teams) all benefit from the TV revenues. The Montreal and Toronto markets already are at their max, and they're both the most secure market. Put a team in Hamilton, it cuts the Ontario market in half (assuming the Senators' season is not going good) , same for Montreal, the same amount of people are watching the games, but one half watches the Canadiens, the other the Nordiques. See where I'm getting? And there's barely revenue at the gate after all the expenses. Teams could probably get more revenue with a ice rink (with team amenities) built in the middle of a 24/7 giant parking garage instead of attendance.

Does Canada have little league like the US?
Yeah but it seems pretty decentralized (structurally). Very few areas (where I'm from at least) have any kind of proper little league setup, just community-based teams that just play and if there is a decent crop of talent in that community they have a shot at LLWS.

Baseball is a dying sport up here. I was a kid when the Jays won back-to-back so it resurged for a little while in the 90s but it's pretty much dead by now outside of tiny fishing villages that cannot field enough players in other sports.

We do have domestic sports leagues for hockey, gridiron football and soccer. We don't for basketball and baseball, but there are minor league/high school/rec leagues for some of those.

We don't have the demand, population, population density for more leagues than that and it's more lucrative for the biggest teams to join American leagues obviously.
