Sunderland vs AFC Wimbledon [League One]

Sunderland vs AFC Wimbledon [15:00 BST]

We'll see today how Lee Johnson's new-look Black Cats respond to Tuesday's 1-0 defeat to Burton Albion, their first of the season.

Sunderland were unlucky not to come away with something from the game, but will be confident of getting back to winning ways this afternoon.

The Dons are unbeaten so far this season, drawing their last two after beating Doncaster on the opening weekend.

Sunderland boss Lee Johnson handed Alex Pritchard his first league start for the club.

Pritchard's inclusion was the only change to the Black Cats side that started the weekend defeat at Burton Albion, with fellow new signing left-back Dennis Cirkin making way as he dropped to the bench.

That meant a slight reshuffle, with Dan Neil dropping back to take Cirkin's place in defence while Pritchard filled the gap left by Neil in midfield.

Johnson also included two more new arrivals, defender Frederik Alves and striker Nathan Broadhead, on the bench.

But there was no place for latest signing Niall Huggins, with the former Leeds United left-back arriving too late yesterday to be eligible for today's game.

AFC Wimbledon boss Mark Robinson made six changes to the side that started the weekend draw against Gillingham.

In came Cheye Alexander, Anthony Hartigan, Ollie Palmer, Ethan Chislett, Luke McCormick, and Ben Heneghan, with Paul Kalambayi, Daniel Csoka, George Marsh, Paul Osew, Aaron Pressley, and Dapo Mebude, making way.

Sunderland: Burge, Winchester, Flanagan, Doyle, Neil, O'Nien, Pritchard, Gooch, Embleton, McGeady, Stewart

Subs: Patterson, Alves, Broadhead, O'Brien, Cirkin, Wright, Hawkes

AFC Wimbledon: Tzanev, Lawrence, Woodyard, Nightingale, Alexander, Hartigan, Palmer, Assal, Chislett, McCormick, Heneghan

Subs: Oualah, Marsh, Rudoni, Mebude, Guinness-Walker, Pressley, Kalambayi

Strong squad up there they have as well, lads like Iorfa, Bannan, Peacock Farrell and Gregory. They should finish top six, some solid teams in that league as well, Pompey looking solid this year and Wigan/Ipswich have recruited well too

Oxford are so fucking dead injury wise. I hate this idea that 'who cares if you don't have a dedicated striker, you got a winger who can play there!'. I really wish they'd signed .offer from the Championship. Linfield produce so many good players for the lower league.

similar to nba turning into a 3 point chuck fest.
retaining possession gives you a better chance at winning.

Why do we need to get involved at all? Why did we get involved in the first place? The money that has been spent on occupying a backward shithole for 20 years could have been used here to defend our borders, improve our infrastructure, hospitals and schools.

Morality is completely relative. What we consider moral now in this country would be considered completed immoral by previous generations. What’s considered moral in Afghan is considered to be immoral here.
