MK Dons vs Sunderland [League One]

MK Dons vs Sunderland (15:00 BST)

The Black Cats have won both of their games so far this season, with last weekend's 2-1 home victory over Wigan getting Lee Johnson's side off to a positive start.

They followed that up with a 2-1 win at Port Vale in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, and look to add to those victories at Stadium MK today.

Johnson is likely to return to a similar starting line up to that against Wigan after making changes in the cup, with Aiden McGeady and Ross Stewart expected to return, along with Lee Burge in goal.

Dennis Cirkin made his debut after signing from Tottenham.

Full team news:
Lee Johnson handed one of this week's new signings his Sunderland debut, with former Spurs man Dennis Cirkin starting at left-back against MK Dons at Stadium MK.

Fellow new-boy Frederik Alves, who joined on loan from West Ham yesterday evening, did not arrive in time to be eligible for today's game.

After making eight changes for the midweek Carabao Cup win at Port Vale, Johnson reverted to almost the same starting XI that that faced Wigan Athletic on the opening day.

Cirkin's inclusion was the only change, with Luke O'Nien making way - presumably due to injury.

With Cirkin at left-back, that freed up Dan Neil to move back into his natural midfield role where he filled the vacancy left by O'Nien alongside Corry Evans.

Elliot Embleton had been a doubt ahead of the game, but he was passed fit to start in the number ten role.

MK Dons' new head coach Liam Manning also made one change to the side that started the opening league game.

He brought in goalkeeper Andrew Fisher in place of Laurie Walker.

Dons included Sunderland academy product Ethan Robson in their starting XI, having signed him on loan from Blackpool over the summer.

Sunderland: Burge, Winchester, Flanagan, Doyle, Cirkin, Evans, Neil, Gooch, Embleton, McGeady, Stewart

Subs: Patterson, O'Brien, Taylor, Pritchard, Diamond, Wright, Hawkes

MK Dons: Fisher, Watson, Jules, O'Hora, Darling, O'Riley, Twine, Eisa, Robson, Parrott, Harvie

Subs: Ravizzoli, Lewington, Brown, Martin, Baldwin, McEachran, Boateng

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Do many other prem clubs do this for away club goal kicks? Feels like every other championship club and league 1 club does it, but I never hear it as loud as at Leicester in the prem

Strong norfman energy in doing this. Southern faries and twitter zoomers call it tinpot when they in fact quake in fear of the YOU'RE SHIT AHHHHHHH chant

It's going to be a rough year for Burnley. Not looking good lads. I fear this time we are going down.

Brentford did look good ytd.
If Brentford is in trouble, Arsenal is going down.

sunderland bros why is it always so tense

Another game that proves that Blunderland are too reliant on wingers for goals. Goocg is just awful. Lee needs to get a proper striker. Oh well 2-1 win, I'll take it.

Brighton have looked strong enough today for a 14-16 finish. And Potter is a quality manager.
Brentford look like the team that will over perform for a year then go down next season, do a Sheffield United.
Wolves, Villa and Palace will struggle but all have money and enough quality to survive.
Norwich are in for a difficult year.
It won't take much for Burnley to get relegated. It's going to be a big struggle for goals and to lose Chris Wood to injury would mean losing the only reliable goal threat. Meanwhile the team ages another year and before the season is out won't have a single forward under 30.

I'm sure they have plenty tucked away.
