Sunderland vs Accrington Stanley [15:00 BST]

It's been an April to forget for the Black Cats, with only one win so far this month, way back against Oxford three weeks ago.

However, Lee Johnson's side can secure a place in the end-of-season play-offs today with a win, and if other results go their way.

Plus there's still the matter of maintaining the pressure on second-placed Peterborough United following their defeat to Gillingham on Tuesday.

Johnson could tweak his side again today following the midweek draw at leaders Hull.

Sunderland vs Accrington Stanley team news: Aiden McGeady starts

Lee Johnson made three changes to the side that started the midweek draw at leaders Hull City.

Aiden McGeady returned to the Black Cats line-up after missing out on Tuesday due to a badly bruised foot, and he replaced Jordan Jones.

Aiden O'Brien came in for Grant Leadbitter, and Denver Hume replaced Callum McFadzean at left-back.

Johnson reverted to his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation, with Josh Scowen and Carl Winchester playing in front of the back four, and with Lynden Gooch and McGeady either side of O'Brien in the three, with Charlie Wyke leading the line.
