Sunderland AFC vs Bristol Rovers [League One]

1 Name: 606 2020-09-12 12:51
Sunderland AFC vs Bristol Rovers [15:00 BST]

The Black Cats get their promotion bid under way at an empty Stadium of Light today, in what could be the perfect start to the season.

A repeat of last season's 3-0 win over the Gas will do very nicely, and after Tuesday night's 8-1 thrashing of Aston Villa U21s, Phil Parkinson's side will be in confident mood.

Sunderland are set to sign former Hartlepool United midfielder Josh Hawkes, according to reports.

The 21-year-old, who left Pools at the end of last season, has had a number of admirers in the EFL.

But various reports now claim it’s Sunderland who have won the race for his signature - with Hawkes set to team-up with the club’s under-23 side.

The pre-match thoughts from the Bristol Rovers camp:
Sunderland are a very good team, they have a good squad and are a huge club in the division. They play with very good intensity and we know that second balls are going to be very important tomorrow and being able to control those at both ends of the pitch are going to be a key part of the game. We’ve prepared as fully as we can we’re looking forward to the challenge. For a first league game, it’s a great game and one that you look forward to. The players are all in a good place and looking forward to the challenge

Are Sunderland one of the most laughed at clubs ever? Back to back relegations, they fielded a Pedophile, shitty owners, their rivalry with Newcastle, and now the documentary.

Also got a free Championship tier players and have to rely on gigg if he isn't fit.

He's got a point though. Sunderland have no idea what they're doing at the moment.

Remember when they were an actually stable PL team?
32 Name: Anonymous 2020-09-12 14:10
this is the second time I see this team in second division and they are just as bad as they were last time. I saw them in the playoffs too and they clearly never made it through by sheer luck, cos they would be back down.

One of the most soulless clubs the Prem has had. The only time this club was soul was under Pete Reid. Otherwise they have been soulless shit filled with Americans and Man United rejects managed by jokers like Chris fuckinng Coleman.
36 Name: Anonymous 2020-09-12 14:17
i don't see any way for Sunderland to avoid last place this season. Hull is probably going down again as well.
37 Name: Anonymous 2020-09-12 14:18
>>31
Sunderland have no idea
more like the owners have no idea
remember that year they came up, they brought in something like 13 players, then went down in the same season
this time theyre probably just gonna throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks, till they go down again

at least they have a neat stadium, nice for away days in the summer, assuming we're getting crowds back within 6 months

It's just weird that teams like Sheffield and Wolves can come from the 2nd division and "fight" for european football, and these dudes be going down and up every season

Why does Jordan Willis still start? He's one of the worst defenders I have ever seen, rubbish in the League One as well. League Two level.

Sheffield United and Wolves both had good managers and a strong tactical system where everyone knew their roles
Sunderland sack their managers constantly and have an insanely shit defence

Instead of buying a great RB early in the window we decided to buy two mediocre ones days before the Hull match.

Good to see the Sunderland threads are build up again, always slow at the start of the season.
70 Name: NUFC 2020-09-12 15:24
I'll stop bleating in a couple of weeks, but for context, four years ago our opening fixture was a victory over then-champions Leicester in the Premier League curtain raiser. We only had about 13 first team adult players, with Steve Bruce walking after a disastrous summer.

Today we're at Gillingham away lel. What a mess. Our last season in the third tier we went straight through, enjoying back-to-back promotions to the Championship under Peter Taylor. Great people whose legacy has been desecrated by some frog looking Egyptian cunt.

The league and the media is now trying to argue that the statement is independent of the political group. And that you're a racist if you point out the language, symbols and gestures are those associated with the political group.

It’s straight up retarded. The message simply becomes diluted, along the lines of players mumbling/not singing the national anthem pre match, indicative of their apathy. I think by now, everyone gets it, nogs be mad, but a bunch of overpaid entertainers giving a token 3 second gesture is not going to change shit in society.

I just pay some bloke £65 a year and get everything, been using him for about 3 years now. There's loads of providers though, all you need is a box, then just find a provider that will sort you out.

Post in there what you want and you'll get a load of people offering to sort you out.

All of the UK channels, including everything you get on SKY, so all the sports and film channels. All of the US stuff as well, as well as all of their sports channels like ESPN etc, as well as stuff like NFL Red zone and all of that other shit if you want to watch all of the burger sports. Then obviously you get all of the premier league games and Championship games. Loads of porn as well if you're a coomer. And whenever there is a PPV on as well for boxing, UFC etc, you get streams for that as well. Stream quality is SD and HD, I don't think there's a provider out there yet that does 4k.
