matty cash sold for 18m
bogle and lowe for Derby getting sold for 5m each
LOVE Derby selling their players for peanuts, and overpaying for absolute dross

it's funny how much more soulful the northern side of the cup than the southern side

Never realized how much more emphasis I place on the sound of the match compared to visually paying attention when watching a match. Audio is behind the action a solid 20-30 seconds and it took me 40 minutes to even notice.

who's showing the WSL this season?

Literally who cares. More people turn up for Concord fucking Rangers games.

What the fuck? We're about to play Blackburn in a friendly, how is the league cup on? Scheduling is retarded.

Blackburn played last weekend. A load of the matches were staggered.

a three-month break in the middle of the season will be the norm?

This Sunderland match is by far the worst match i've tried to watching in several years and I regularly watch the MLS.
51 Name: Anonymous 2020-09-05 15:39
>>50
Its basically a pre season match, Sunderland can't break the defence down because they are shit, Hull are shit. MLS will at least be quick
52 Name: Anonymous 2020-09-05 15:40
Does this go to extra time or straight to pens?
53 Name: Anonymous 2020-09-05 15:41
>>51
Wouldn't the Carabao cup be a pretty major trophy for a team of Sunderland's caliber? These are all knockout rounds, no?
54 Name: Anonymous 2020-09-05 15:42
>>52
Straight to penalties.

>>53
Sunderland's team is mainly their academy players due to international duty.

Meh. Most clubs field weaker teams and aren't too fussed. Then they might take it a bit more seriously if they got to the Quarters or something.

It's worth even less now they're playing for a place in the Europa Conference League.

I see the French scrapped their League Cup, the only other "secondary cup" to offer a European place.

I see. I remember a number of years ago while Liverpool were utterly shit they had won the league cup and I was pretty happy about it. Probably skewing my perception a bit.
57 Name: Anonymous 2020-09-05 15:45
>>56
To be fair Liverpool had won fucking nothing for 6 years at that stage
58 Name: Anonymous 2020-09-05 15:45
>>56
Oh yeah, I'd be chuffed if my team won it, but it's not exactly an aim at the start of the season

Anyone ever been on a narrowboat?

Might hire one for a few days, see if I like it. Maybe retire on one someday.

0-0 <----- Really good start to the season for Sunderland. Super excited and confident about what is to come, NOT!

honestly hated playing Hull when we were in the PL

you were literally a bunch of shithouses who played shit football that'd score a corner at the 80th minute when we dominated the game with brilliant football
69 Name: Anonymous 2020-09-05 15:55
Sunderland have already had three golden chances
70 Name: Anonymous 2020-09-05 15:57
never rated the league cup
just a distraction
71 Name: Anonymous 2020-09-05 15:58
Very nice football from Sunderland so far, but little clear chances. Also George Honeyman is as shit as when he left us, we can't defeat counters.
