Bristol Rovers vs Sunderland [15:00 GMT]

Sunderland head to Bristol Rovers' Memorial Ground today looking to build on Tuesday's victory over Gillingham and keep the pressure on Barnsley and Luton above them.

The race for League One promotion is really beginning to hot up now and with Barnsley and Porstmouth both dropping points in midweek ahead of their clash against one another this afternoon, automatic promotion is back in the Black Cats' hands.

That rests on them winning all of their remaining games, however, so they must continue their winning form from Tuesday into this one.

They'll have to do so without Chris Maguire (fractured fibula), Bryan Oviedo (groin) and Lynden Gooch (doubt, hamstring), however.

Can Jack Ross' side pick up another valuable three points on the road?

Jack Ross made just once change to the side that started the midweek win over Gillingham, which was forced upon him as Chris Maguire suffered a fractured fibula in that game which will rule him out for at least six weeks.

His place was taken by Duncan Watmore, who was himself returning from a groin problem.

Adam Matthews was included amongst the subs after being left out entirely for the last three games.

Sunderland XI: McLaughlin, O’Nien, Flanagan, Dunne, James, Honeyman, Cattermole, Leadbitter, McGeady, Grigg, Watmore

Subs: Ruiter, Power, Matthews, Ozturk, McGeouch, Morgan, Wyke
