does the vacuum reach beyond the known universe?
or is it limited to some borders?
what is a fuking vacuum?

The universe is expanding. There's not very much shit in the space (on a relative scale), so there's no pressure. Absence of pressure.

It's like that movie with Dustin Hoffman called The Graduate. For a while he was under a lot of pressure, but then he ran off with the hot chick. Then there was no pressure. A vaccum.

It was a metaphor for space.

Astronomer here.

Space is between bodies. There's no air pressure between celestial bodies, so a vaccum is created.

OP here. Thanks. The Dustin Hoffman analogy makes a lot of sense. I'll put that in my paper. Thanks anon!

According to relativity, space is where there's no matter, or dark matter. It's where there's essentially no time either. Because according to relativity, matter is actually required for time to exist. Space is just the cosmic medium that houses matter

It means that the entire universe is inside of some clean freaks vacuum and the dude leaves it running 24/7 and if he ever turns it off everything that you know and love will just cease to be.

GR does not say anything like that.

op here but i still dont know what vacuum is
what is the fuking absence of the matter
is it death? surely if a human suddenly popped out in the vacuum he would die so maybe thats it
whats is fuking nothing? it must be constructed of something tho
everything requires some kind of a medium
the universe is literally dispersed in vacuum wich must be something
is vacuum a state of matter
like water is a phase of ice?

Think of earth's atmosphere. The higher you go up, the less air there is. Take that to an extreme and go to space (far, far into space and nowhere near any planet or galaxy) and suddenly there is nothing apart from maybe like a 'few' photons (particles of light) per cubic meter of space. That's the vacuum of space.

is it death? surely if a human suddenly popped out in the vacuum he would die
Yes but you'd probably freeze or suffocate. Humans exploding in the vacuum of space is dreamed up by Hollywood. You'd literally start to boil but that's another topic

the universe is literally dispersed in vacuum wich must be something
Doesn't work like that. Same deal with the expanding universe. It does not simply expand into any existing space. It creates spacetime itself. It's a very hard concept to wrap your head around
