I move into a new house in a few weeks, and it's detached. Which is pretty cool for here in the UK.

So. I need a new guitar amp and I love the Marshall sound. I used to have an AVT150H with 2 AVT 4x12 cabs. I did like the sound, but that shit was waaaaay too loud for playing at home. Though it was good for gigging. These days I don't gig at all now I'm older and all my friends are married/have kids etc. So it'll just be me, jamming alone in my house. I want an amp that has the Marshall sound, goes loud enough, but not too loud. So I'm maybe swaying towards a solid state? Like a Valvestate 8040 or AVT50. Or a small tube like the DSL5CR.

Anybody have any good recommendations and wanna weigh in?

I’m more of a Fender guy, but if you ever have a chance to pick up a blackface or early silverface Super Reverb, jump on it. I got a 1973 last year and it blows me away every time. Definitely has your usually and bright/shimmering fender sound, but I can make it Marshall a little bit with the right settings and pedals. I love the brightness because it counters a bit of mud from my humbuckers.
