There's advantages and disadvantages of it. The only exception to battery powered new technology vehicles that are produced in Germany are certain buses and some trucks.

I have an electric car that I can charge for free in my garage from the solar panel on my roof. Cool and cheap. No fucking going to the station to collect fuel or hydrogen.

Both will coexist nicely for some time.

Trying to lower the price of Tesla so you can buy more stocks

There's barely any source of hydrogen in nature. Only way you can get enough hydrogen is if you split water molecules, which requires electricity. You'll lose more power in the process compared to just storing it on a battery

The cap on progression of the technology is too low for long term investing.
Electricity is still superior, its the method of transfer that's hindered and will be resolved with arrival of solid state batteries.
If 100% is full capability of the tech then hydro is at 80% whereas electricity is at 30%.
Makes much more sense to develop a 30% efficient tech to 100% long term than it is to develop an 80% tech to 100% for short term gains.
