I think I may have lost some empathy over the years, and now don't give a shit if people die anymore, or even care if my family gets hurt.

I'm pretty normal now at 33. Went passed my deepened depression of my 20s and it all ended with nasty addiction driven life with coke heroine booze whatever. Now I am just a regular developer with a soon to be fiance and house and im happy. My brain is way different from normies thanks to a decade long suicidal path. I appreciate life.

i tried to kill myself by falling on a large kitchen knife 3 times at the age of 26.

28 now, and i'm usually pretty happy. I have a fun job, a pretty girlfriend, and good friends. It's hard to believe I almost did that.

I got into a car accident at 18 and after the doctors scanned my brain and all that they said everything was just fine. My memory is REALLY shitty now, to the point where I forget if I have work despite having a set schedule, my girlfriend's name, and a whole bunch of small shit

27 yo here, seeking for a job, no family, been thinking about suicide, life's getting pretty shitty and drugs only worsen the situation. Booze and weed lately, although coke and lsd on previous occasions

I work at a mortuary and have done so for the last 2 years. We average probably 8-12 people a day with an average of 45-60 people in the cooler at any given time. While it’s technically a funeral home, nobody comes to us for funerals. We deal mostly with the lower class and probably 2/5 deaths are somehow gross in their own way. Last week some dude fell over dead from a heart attack. When I got there he’d been there for probably 3 days, but his dog had gotten hungry. Man had no face and his organs were hanging out of his stomach. Been thinking about that one a lot.

I used to be very damaged, now I'm not, because I woke up. You can choose to not identify with negative thoughts. You can choose to be whoever you want.

I have no idea but i think many episodes in my life made me desensitized to a lot of crap

I got in through an indeed jobs offer that I just saw. I get like $16 hourly so it’s just enough to keep me there at the moment. I’d recommend doing like a visit to a morgue if possible beforehand though to make sure that’s what you wanna do
