Planning on doing the following.

Let me know if you think it will work?

Going to buy a faulty xbox for like 20 bucks from ebay. Then buy a brand new xbox from Amazon. Once it arrives, swap the working xbox with the broke one and return back to Amazon and tell them the box was open when it came and the Xbox inside isn't working. Get a refund for the amazon xbox and get to keep a perfectly fine xbox for 20 bucks.

Discuss.

Inb4 poorfag thief scum etc. Don't think Mr Bezos will care considering item will be from Amazon Warehouse and they will pay any fees related to this.

I think they'd be able to verify which one they sent out. With a serial number and all that.

It wont work for two simple reasons, the first one being that amazon employee can tell if someone does this kind of scams, consoles have revision numbers and other kind of stuff that prevents the item-swap-scam.

Secondly, I work for amazon lol imma report you

There is a number on every piece of electronic near the barcode that is unique to that item, they will find you out immediately

while definitely possible, it has been my experience that amazon is god damn dysfunctional that they wouldn't bother with that shit.

Sounds dumb as fuck. I suggest you do it.

What if you swap the internal parts of the xbox. You think they wouldcheck inside too?

tell us how it goes

Op here... Yes they would tell soon enough it is not the same product they shipped to me... But as I would tell them the box was open when it arrived and the xbox doesn't work, there are a number of places it could have been swapped out and tampered with from the warehouse at amazon to the delivery station. As I am a good prime customer with numerous purchases I think they would not assume fraud on my side especially as I've done nothing like this before.

What if they only offer replacement?

If you want to be a really greasy cunt do it on ebay. PayPal and ebay nearly always side with the buyer.

I bet you they got cams in their warehouse that they will check and probably see it wasn't opened too. Besides they dont sell open/returned items like this, they auction of pallet loads of returned stuff you can see videos of ppl in boxing these pallets.

True... But maybe I would just say I am now scared about the prospect of purchasing expensive products online and would rather just buy it in a store after this experience? Never bought something this expensive on amazon so would seem legit.

I swapped out the internals on a broken Dreamcast back in the day and sent it back to a catalogue place and it worked no problem

Yeah assuming they'll go to that length but maybe they would. I just read threads on reddit saying how stuff like this can be done as amazon like to suck the customers dick especially if you're a prime customer which I have been for years. I returned only one thing in my history with them a few years back and they sure did make sure my ass hole was nice and clean with their tongue once my complaint with them came to an end.

Please don't do this, they will call the cops.
