Seriously, what is the problem with all these faggots out there who can't get a job?

My contract at my job got suspended on Friday, on Monday I applied for some jobs online, kind of half-assed like.
I got a phone interview today with a face to face tomorrow that I'm 100% confident will end in a job offer with about a 2k/year pay raise.

How are people so fucking shitty at life that employers don't want them to do their shitty jobs?

How have you spent roughly a quarter of a century on this planet and not acquired a marketable skill set?

I'm 16 and looking for a job, I've applied to 20 different positions in various companies

I have tons of skills but they don't trust that shit unless you have a diploma
15 Name: Anonymous 2017-06-07 10:56

Are you looking for jobs that require a diploma? Because if you are, FUCK OFF KID.

Go get a job that requires no skills other than showing up on time and not having shit for brains. That is what 16 year olds are worth.

It all has to do with experience and how you carry yourself. I remember when I was young getting my first jobs, didn't know how to interview had no proven skills only had a clean pair of jeans and a polo. It was tough getting a job. I imagine most young kids right out of collage/high school having the same problem. Or even if you just worked some basic job out of necessity.

But ten years later I apply for work I see what offers I get, pit the places against each other and see who offers me the best deal.
Any ways >>13 either you've lucked into some valuable experience. Put in the hard work to be in that position or got lucky. But your situation definitely doesn't dictate what happens for everyone else in this country faggot.
19 Name: Anonymous 2017-06-07 14:21
>>13
I think a lot of it comes down to mistakes made when young adding up and becoming difficult to surmount. I'm a former heroin addict and former drug dealer, and while I didn't get in any legal trouble, I did have an employment gap.

Other stuff can also hurt job prospects; I'm epileptic and can't really legally drive as a result, even though I only have a single seizure a year at most.

That being said, I am employed presently ($12/hr, full benefits) and entertaining other job offers. Don't even have a degree either.

I suppose a lot of it comes down to effort, being realistic about the options available to you, presenting oneself properly and general respectability. The real truth is that you can get a good job and a pretty girlfriend if you play the game even a little bit. but most people outside of those situations don't understand how to leverage themselves properly.
20 Name: Anonymous 2017-06-07 14:38
I have a master's degree in a field that can work in almost any industry. I have been looking for work for a year and a half after graduation. Had interviews all over the country. Can't get a job due to the 3-5-10 rule. You need 3, 5, or 10+ years experience or no one will higher you. I have lost 0-1 entry level experience jobs to people with 20+ years experience who already had a job in the field. Their bills are paid and kids are in college so they wanted to just coast to retirement. That has happened 3 times to me that I know of and who knows how many times that I don't know of. I have tried using my networks, family friends etc to no avail. Every time the 3-5-10 rule applies and get over looked. No one is willing to train. Everyone wants someone with experience and there is no way to attain it. People will even say just do internships. Internships often require you to still be in college making it impossible to get 3 year of experience during your master degree program.
21 Name: Anonymous 2017-06-07 14:55
Go get a job washing dishes at a restaurant, you'll eventually get promoted to waitstaff or cook and get some skills that way. Other than that, grocery stores and call centers are good entry-level work.

Also, you can always volunteer somewhere if you are unemployed, which counts as experience. I volunteered at a hospital all through High School and that paid dividends when I was looking for a real job after I dropped out of college.

I've applied to most of that stuff, like everything except construction

I do taxidermy and paint and am actually thinking of making a class for it

Most of that other stuff is freelance which I haven't really thought of so thanks for the suggestion

But my mom really wants me to get a legit job
23 Name: Anonymous 2017-06-07 15:29
It's easy for me. My situation is universal. I can't possibly imagine that jobs are more scarce in other locations or that people might lack the skills needed for the jobs available locally. I also can't fathom that outsourcing has taken away once plentiful jobs. In short, I'm a huge faggot.
24 Name: Anonymous 2017-06-07 16:21

Why did you not do an internship during your post bach. work?
I'm unaware of any programs at my university that did not require a few months to graduate.
25 Name: Anonymous 2017-06-07 17:11
I had 3 internships. That got me 1 year of experience during my Master's. Most internships are only 3 months in length. All three told me that there is no job available.

So /lounge/ 28 year old ausfag here looking for some advice to put it plainly I have wasted my life zero work skills, no passions/hobbies I can capitalize on. pretty sure im depressed/anxious 24/7 as I rarely leave my house and I have lost most of my friends due to me becoming a recluse but the real problem here is that whenever I try to seek help like a doctor or therapist my anxiety kicks in and I never see said professional again wtf do I do? I have been stuck in this shitty cycle for the better part of 8 years and im afraid if I dont do something about it soon im going either end on the street begging for change or on the end of a rope. what do?

TL;DR depressed loser asking for advice

my gf has diagnosed anxiety, has had for years.

it's fucking hard just for me, it must be hell for her. She sees all kinds of shit that isn't happening, assumes hidden meaning behinds everything, hates leaving the house.

She's got a job, earns more than me. I have to talk her out of quitting most weeks because she thinks everyone there hates her and is out to get her, but she's been working solidly for 6-7 years.

It's not an easy path. seeing a psych has helped her. she gets to talk some shit out, and she's on some anti-anxiety meds - they dont fix it but they reduce the intensity and help her relax a bit. Nothing as good as a bottle of wine does, but a lot better than nothing.
38 Name: Anonymous 2017-06-08 15:48
>>37
shit man I cant even imagine having a partner with this shit you deserve some serious props for coping yourself let alone helping someone through it as well. seriously man your doing a great thing because I have isolated myself so much those few times when a friend talks me through stuff really helps get me through the day
39 Name: Anonymous 2017-06-08 17:08

I find that my anxiety gets better if I'm actively working on doing exercise and getting in a good place in terms of my physical health. I've been going through a bad spell and I just started getting into the habit of going running, biking around, doing stretches and yoga and stuff. I think it has definitely helped.

So even if you can't manage to leave the house, just turn on some youtube yoga vids or something and go along with it, there are tonnes of good ones. I guarantee you if you do 20 minutes every day you'll start feeling better in a week. The mind and body are extremely interconnected. And some yoga practices get you to work a bit on meditation and getting yourself centred so that might be even more helpful.

After that, you can work on the other stuff, first thing is to get healthy and get your head in a good place.

my life is fucked up.

I have no friends, and my university is raping me.
they have suspended me because they dont like me.

I can't make an appeal. I asked them if I they can lift my suspension. They ignored me, and sent me to a psychologist. Psychologist sent them a report back that there is nothing wrong with me.

I don't know what I have done, but they are really angry with me.

I am in medical school and in my last year. I am very depressed. I can't continue.

I was supposed to be finished 2 years ago.

also my girlfriend left me to whore herself out.

and my family is angry because I am choking on debt and I have no job and I am almost 30.

I sleep most of the day, I am fucking miserable.
and I am having these headaches lately.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm 35, mentally ill (though in remission), $175,000 in debt, had to move back with my parents last year, my license is medically suspended but won't be able to get it back any time soon because I'm a degenerate alcoholic and spent part of last friday flailing around drunk in a ditch where I lost my keys and glasses, spent the night in the drunk tank, and am about to declare bankruptcy. I might be able to get a job in town as a part time night watchman for the summer.

I have a PhD and a JD.

Went to law school to the tune of $30,000+ per year, articled (am in Canada) but couldn't claw any money back because I was supporting both my girlfriend and I, had a relapse into insane depression and anxiety, fucked my relationship, couldn't write the bar exam in the fall, failed it in march, and couldn't even get a teaching job over the last bunch of months, and the alcoholism thing doesn't help. In any event, here we are.

Yeah all sound advice; covering most of that. In all honesty I'm in a pretty positive mood relative to the prior two years. I've had undiagnosed chronic depression for about 20, but managed to muscle through somehow until about summer 2014 when things started going off the rails. Even given all my problems, it's a lot easier to get through the day when you're not filled with irrational burning anxiety directed at nothing and imagining different ways to kill yourself all day every day.

Choose Life.
Choose a job.
Choose a career.
Choose a family.
Choose a fucking big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers.
Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance.
Choose fixed interest mortgage repayments.
Choose a starter home.
Choose your friends.
Choose leisurewear and matching luggage.
Choose a three-piece suit on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics.
Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on Sunday morning.
Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth.
Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pissing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked up brats you spawned to replace yourselves.
Choose your future.
Choose life... But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life. I chose somethin' else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who needs reasons when you've got heroin??

Blacks are human people and they aren't animals. Besides, when we adopt animals we treat them like friends and not objects. Domestic animals don't go through hardships, unlike independent stray animals.

Slaves are the other way around, if they are owned by other humans they go through hardships, if they are set free they have a better life.
